ALDO KODAC: Inside the Taboo

opening 09.10.2025

dates 10.10.2025-09.11.2025

Uruguayan artist Aldo Kodac presents a new cycle of works in Rome, at Palazzo Cavallerini Lazzaroni. The exhibition “Inside the Taboo“, organized by Zuecca Projects, opens on October 9 and will run until November 9, 2025.

Characterized by a deep technical exploration of mark-making, light and perception, Kodac’s works oscillate between abstraction and constructivism, developing a personal language that resists rigid categorization. His practice spans painting, sculpture, ceramics and new media, interpreting art as a natural extension of being alive.

At the heart of Kodac’s visual research are light and time.

“Everything is light,” the artist states. In his work, light is not merely a medium but an ontological substance that generates space and meaning. Materialized through color, light manifests in wide chromatic fields punctuated by dots—minimal yet significant elements of interference—or through the organic layering of forms.

Kodac conceives time as a continuous flow, where past, present, and future coexist and overlap. His large canvases, composed of countless dots, extend this eternal present and express a temporal stratification that translates, through layered forms, into a complex visual structure. This non-linear perception of time provides the rhythm behind the composition and process of creation.

For the artist, the use of glass to cover the surface of the works serves as a conceptual device: the reflection of the viewer becomes part of the artwork, turning it into an entity in constant transformation. The work thus becomes a total experiential space, where visual perception merges with dreamlike and poetic dimensions, reflecting back to the viewer the complexity and vitality of reality as a mirror of the dream.
